Searching for Direction in this Crowded Space & Special Announcement!

When I started this blog I had no expectations, zero. I just wanted to share my thoughts with however wanted to listen to my ramblings and musings. I bought all my makeup myself and even disliked the idea of monetising my blog when people would ask me about it. I used to think that my authenticity comes from the fact that I bought the products myself with my hard earned money. I have come to realise that thought was influenced by a number of popular influencers and YouTubers that were being dishonest about their views…

What makeup product(s) do you spend your coins on?

This question popped into my head and as usual I thought I would ask you guys. What makeup product or products do you spend your money on? If you are like me, it is foundation, concealers and highlighters…oh yeah and setting powders! Heck lets just say all makeup products!  I love me some foundation and I won’t stop till I find Mr. Right! Yes, I refer to my foundations as ‘he’. You know some of my foundations are matte, so they stick around through thick and thin, through the heat struggles they are not going…

MAC Products which are worth keeping in your collection

The title of this post sounds hella shady right? Oops! It wasn’t my intention. I just remember when MAC products made up 100% of my makeup collection. The days when MAC seemed to be the only brand that catered for women with my skin tone. I used to go into MAC and feel like I was in a candy store spending all my hard earned coins. Nowadays, there is a lot more variety on the market for women of colour, more options and let’s be honest they are better options. I don’t think I could…

Cleansing Oils | Do they work?

Cleansing your face with oils sounds weird doesn’t it? The thought of rubbing oil on my face to remove makeup sounded like someone just told me to rub fried chicken over my body! I just didn’t get it. How does it work? I have oily skin so why would I rub more oil onto my face?! I was completely baffled by the whole idea. I am used to my skin feeling squeaky clean after I wash it, and I mean squeaky and tight! That is my clean feeling. To my ladies with dry skin I…

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation | First Impressions and Review

This foundation has been on my to-buy list for a long time, but when push came to shove I would buy another foundation. I think subconsciously I thought it would be the same as my NARS foundation, which is not matte for me at all. What has recently attracted me to this foundation was the new release of new shades which were great for my melanin rich beauties. When a brand brings out 40 shades of a foundation, catering for the fairest of ladies to the darkest chocolate ladies, I am sold. Alot of us…

14 Black Girl Friendly Concealers | If you don’t know now you know!

Let’s be real here, getting the right under-eye concealer is like finding the right accessory for an outfit. It is veryyyy important. It has taken me a while to work out what I want from my under-eye concealers, similar to when I made the decision about what I wanted from a relationship. Like I said, this is important to me, don’t judge me! I love my concealer to be 2 shades lighter than my foundation shade. I don’t do 3 or more shades lighter, but girl if that is what floats your boat, then do you.…

Laura Mercier Medium Deep Translucent Setting Powder Review

I have been after this Laura Mercier Translucent powder in Medium Deep the moment it came out in the US. I have literally been begging Laura (Yeah, we are on a first name basis haha!) to bring it out in the UK. Ever since I tried the Laura Mercier translucent powder. I was sold! Completely sold (read my review here).  Now, while I was waiting for the ‘chosen one’ i.e the setting powder to arrive, I read so many reviews about this powder. If I could roll my eyes a thousand times, I would. People were…
