Get GLAMMED with me | Using new NARS and Makeup Revolution

Sis, let me tell you something, I get anxiety when I think about doing my makeup! But don’t you have a makeup and beauty blog I hear you say. Yes! But ever since baby #2 (I need to stop calling him that actually before he has a complex when he gets older!) arrived doing my makeup is a blessing! I tell you my dream is to have a makeup artist following my every move, to make sure I am looking flawless at all times. Pray for me guys, pray for me!

So it is important for me to be able to get slammed…hold up…slammed?!!! I wrote ‘glammed’. Darn auto-correct! I will not get slammed in Jesus name! Let me get glammed.

Matte Berry eyes with Pink lips

Firstly, I wash my face with Garnier Micellar Gel wash to remove any excess dirt and oil from my face. I then use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water with cotton pads to make sure my face is super clean. I then start on my eyebrows using L’Oreal Brow Artist Shaper in Dark Brunette. I use this to outline and fill in my brows. I use LA Girl’s Pro Concealer in Fawn underneath and on top of my brows to clean it up and give it that fleekish look! (I start dancing! I love it when my brows behave! ‘I been movin’ calm, don’t start no trouble with me’ Ayyyyyyyyyyyy!) I use the concealer on my eyelids as well. Just to prime them. It gives the eyeshadow something to stick to.

Oh sugar! I forgot to prime my face. I pick up my Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Perfector Primer and apply the tiniest amount to my cheeks and t-zone area (little goes a long way with this primer!) I am looking like a ghost at this point and my husband looks at me in a funny way. I haven’t got time for anyone to steal my joy so I continue dancing (‘She say, “Do you love me?” I tell her, “Only partly”
I only love my bed and my momma, I’m sorry’)

I move onto my eyeshadow. Ummmmm what eyeshadow palette should I use? I want to use one eyeshadow palette for the whole look, I haven’t got the time or energy to start using different palettes. Ummmm it is between Coloured Raine’s Queen of Hearts Palette or Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. They have very similar eyeshadows. I want a matte berry look today, so I decide to go with the Modern Renaissance Palette. Just because it is slightly easy to blend because the eyeshadows are so soft.

I use Realgar for my transition colour, Cyprus Umber to deepen the crease and Love Letter all over the lid and under my eyes. Looks ok, I am happy with it. Looks very spring-y which is what I was aiming for. I use the Rimmel’s Kohl eyeliner in Black to line my eyelids and L’Oreal mascara in Black on my eyelashes. Voila my eyes are done.

Oohhhhhh I pick up my latest foundation NARS Natural Radiant Longwear foundation in New Caledonia (See the full review here). I love the way it applies. I buff the foundation in with my buffing brush (cos I’m buff innit! Lol I’m joking) from Amby Rose collection. (I am looking like a spice I must say so myself! )

With my foundation done, I move to brightening my under eye area with a lighter concealer and contouring with a darker concealer. Firstly I use Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer in C12 & C13. I use C13 first under my eyes, then a little of C12 on top. I like the mix between the two. I leave it to dry down a little. In the meantime, I use C18 of the same concealer, a deeper shade, to contour under my cheekbones. Oh yeah, I don’t contour my nose or forehead, just because I feel like it doesn’t suit my face shape. Find out works for your face. I remember a makeup artist contouring my nose and my forehead and I looked like a squirrel!  So it’s not for me thanks! Shout out to Makeup Revolution for making a shade that is deep enough for me to use as a contour.

I blend out my contour and set it with my trusted CoverGirl Queen powder. I go back to my undereye concealer, blend it out with a damp Beauty Blender (I think I have a fallen in love with my beauty blender again, we have a love-hate relationship). I set the under-eye concealer with Laura Mercier Translucent Powder in Original, using the same damp beauty blender.

I apply Laura Mercier Translucent Powder in Medium Dark to all over the rest of my face to keep my foundation in place. Now I start the finishing touches. I apply my Milani Baked Blush in Red Vino to the apples of my cheeks (good, now I have a little bit of colour on my face!). MAC’s Highlight in Gold Deposit to highlight my cheekbones and nose. I went abit overboard with the nose highlight but hey…it worked in pictures even though it looked a little weird in real life!

Oops I forgot my lashes. I put DUO lash glue on my Koko Lashes in Queen B (this are my go to lashes) and while the lash glue is drying down I apply my MAC Lipliner in Whirl and my lipstick which is from New Look in Orchid. I pop on my eyelashes ( I say ‘pop on’ like it didn’t take me a good 15 mins of applying and reapplying those lashes, muttering curses under my breath when they didn’t stay on!) At least they are on now!

Voila! The look is completed. What do you think?

I love how detailed this post is but would really enjoy seeing the whole makeup process. You should start a YouTube channel already.

Hey hun, thanks for leaving a comment. I knowwwwwww! So many people have told me to start a youtube channel, but to be honest I am nervous about YouTube. I don’t consider myself an expert in a way shape or form, so YouTube would be a massive step for me. Hopefully, I will woman up and get it started! Thanks for the push in the right direction xxx
