New Makeup Products | NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation and Makeup Revolution Concealer

Hey homies, how are you doing? How is 2018 holding up for you? Honestly, for me, it has been hella long but productive, so I guess I shouldn’t complain! So I went on my first date with my husband since our baby has been born, and it was so nice. It was nice to catch up without the kids around. He also decided to spoil me by buying me some makeup. Seriously a way to my heart is by giving me food and makeup! I will be your friend for ever. Let me not give away all my secrets, we have just met and I don’t kiss on the first date! haha!

So hubby bought me some bits from NARS and I picked up some concealers from MAKEUP REVOLUTION. This post will be a first impressions/review post. I wanted to kill three birds with one stone, by doing one post. I was feeling hella lazy. But if you want a separate more in depth post for any of these products, then let me know in the comments below.

Disclaimer: My ‘wonderful’ is doing the most the moment. One day it is dry, especially around my mouth so dry that I look grey! The other days my cheeks, nose and forehead are so oily and clog up my pores. I am currently changing up my skincare routine so I will give you the heads up once I get new products’

‘There’s longwear. And then there’s strongwear. Introducing NARS’ first 16-hour foundation that stays turned on by the power of radiance. Untraceable. Unstoppable. Unlike anything else.

Longwear is finally lightweight—and radiant. High coverage is now super natural. It’s breathable, fade-resistant formula is infused with Raspberry, Apple, and Watermelon extracts to help smooth and improve the look of your skin instantly, and over time for full-powered radiance. It wears longer, stays stronger, and looks better with each hour.’

First Impressions:

When I put this foundation on I was wowed! What a waow! It was flawless. Flawlessssssss. It was incredibly light on my skin and covered up all the dark areas on my face. It is highly pigmented so it is high coverage. I loved the shade range because I found my perfect shade. I was amazed when the lady tested it on my face. It made my skin look smooth and added radiance to my skin. It looked beautiful. You know when a foundation is so right, you feel as though there must be a genie in the bottle? No? Then it’s just me! It looked perfect on my skin. It dried down to a nice comfortable finish.

Arghhhhhhhhh as great as this foundation is, it transfers!!! I was leaving brown fingerprints everywhere. I set the silly thing with my Laura Mercier powder and used oil free primer. It is definitely not long lasting on combination/oily skin types, not at all. If you are an oily girl, you need to powder before and after you a apply this foundation and during the day. Approach with caution! Weirdly enough, it seemed to dsintegrate in certain areas of my face (see my picture below) especially around my mouth. Long-lasting my back foot. Ladies with dry skin will love this foundation. NARS need to stop with the claim of ‘long-lasting’ because it isn’t. I hate constantly blotting my face during the day so I need my foundation to last.

Thoughts: I love and hate this foundation. Like my other NARS foundation.

12 hours later, I was hella tired. I couldn’t even be bothered to try and put back on the wig! Bye Wig!

Price: £4 from here

My shade: C12 & C13 (under-eye concealer) C18 (contour)

First Impressions:

£4?! Come again…it is £4! Heck let me buy every shade! That sums up my first impression basically. Yeah I am cheap, sue me!

I didn’t expect to love this concealer but I do. It has a thick doe foot applicator just like the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. To be honest, it is basically a dupe for the Shape Tape just cheaper. The Makeup Revolution concealer is thick and full coverage which is fab!  I love the shade range for this concealer, they cater for medium to dark skin tones, which I am all about. I had to mix two shades to get my perfect under-eye concealer shade and I use C18 as a contour which I am really digging. When I use this concealer, I don’t suffer from creasing. It blends out so well. It is really a wow! Waow! I love this. And yes it is better than LA Pro Girl concealer. Hands down!

Price: £24 from here

My Shade: Amande

First Impressions:

Now I cannot lie, when I tried the Makeup Revolution I really wanted to return this concealer…girl don’t judge me, £24 is money you know! Why am I being so cheap today?! I need to stop. When the lady tried this concealer on me, I was not wowed if I am completely honest. It felt really nice on my skin though and looked really nice so thats why I wanted it. It looked like a nice natural concealer. I think it is because there are so many good affordable concealers out there, the competition is real. But after trying it, I think this is a great ‘makeup-on-the go’ product. This concealer defo will go into my handbag for touch ups on the go.

This concealer is very easy to blend out even with your fingers and it has a great natural finish. I could wear this concealer on its own without feeling odd. It is full coverage but is really light on your skin. If you are the type of person who doesn’t like the feel of too much heavy products on your skin, this I probably the product for you. What I love about this concealer is that it is semi – matte, so it is long-lasting. So thats it really. It is not my perfect foundation mainly because I am not keen on the fact that it is in a pot, I prefer the doe-foot applicator. I am also not too keen on how thick it is. A little goes a long way but you cannot use this concealer for contouring for example.
