As you may or may not have gathered from me is that complicated, long winded skincare routines are not for me.
I just don’t got the time to be doing 5 skincare steps every.single.night! I know some people love it but not me. I try it, then I abandon it by day 3! It just isn’t my thing. I stumbled on this routine, a few weeks ago and I have seen a noticeable difference in my skin. I typically exfoliate every morning, so I don’t do it at night. My dead skin builds up on my face pretty quickly, so I have to lightly exfoliate. Before I go into that, let go through my skin type:
Hyperpigmentation on my forehead, and around my mouth, large pores on cheeks, acne scars, sometimes I have a problem with texture and breakouts (depending on how my eating has gone), oh yeah and black bags under my eyes courtesy of my darling daughter who wakes up at 5am every.single.day! Yes, including weekends and bank holidays!
Remove makeup with Garnier Micellar Gel wash
I lightly scrub my lips with Lush lip sugar (I include this step twice a week)
I then use my Yes To Grapefruit Mud Mask cooled in the fridge (I include this step twice a week). If my skin texture is doing the most aka not being smooth and I have loads of dead skin I use Sanctuary Spa 5 minute Thermal Detox Mask. FYI I love clay/mud masks for minimising pores and removing dead skin.
I rinse my face thoroughly with warm water, and dry with a clean flannel.
Smother my face with my Estee Lauder Hydrationist cream which I love for giving my skin moisture. My skin loves this cream.
I put 2 drops of The Ordinary Rosehip Oil on the palm of my hand and gently rub it on my face. Making sure that I massage it in.
And voila! That’s it! If I feel like my skin needs more, I just switch the mask to suit my needs at the time.
