Can you imagine that we are in November already?! This year has gone so fast. Before we know it, it will be Christmas already! I am going to be honest with you guys, taking care of my skin has not been a priority at the moment. I don’t know about you but when I get overwhelmed or super stressed, my skin suffers. Either because I am comfort eating so I break out, or my skincare routine goes out of the window. However, in the last couple of weeks, I have re-established my skincare routine and I am loving the way my skin looks and feels at the moment. I also started a massive makeup cleanout, because I am a makeup hoarder, and found some makeup gems that I have neglected.
I figured that I will share it with you guys. So lets get started shall we?
Yes To Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow Boosting Mud Mask (Single use)
I stumbled on this face mask, and figured that I should try it. I love mud masks, because they reduce my large pores and detoxify my skin. This face mask has a light pink colour, and has a light scent. I have a thing about cold mud masks, the type of thing that makes your eyes roll back! I love cold mud masks. I put this mask in the fridge for 5 mins, so when I applied it, it was deliciously cold. I left it on my face for around 20 mins. When I washed it off with warm water, my skin felt soft, brighter (the mask got rid of dead skin on my face) and it minimised my pores. What a win!
I wish it came as a tube or bottle so that I could use it over and over again. But I guess for now, I will buy a few packs for single use, and since they are affordable, it won’t break the bank.
HOURGLASS Stick Foundation
I fell in love with this foundation the first time I used it and when I picked it up this month, I realised the love was still strong! I loveeeeeeee this foundation. It makes my skin look flawless and it lasts all day. It has full coverage which is great for covering up my dark spots. I was wary of cream/stick foundations because I have oily skin, but this foundation works perfectly especially in the cold weather. This foundation isn’t cheap, let me be honest. £42 for foundation can make your eyes water! I did shed a tear when I bought it, let me not lie, but I love it. This foundation comes in alot of shades. To my all fudge, caramel, chocolate ladies this foundation is likely to have your shade. It is worth trying this foundation out in the store.
TONYMOLY Magic Food Banana Hand Milk
Haha! To all my ladies who shop in Sephora you have probably seen this product next to the till. This was a classic impulse buy for me. I was in Sephora aka makeup and beauty heaven and I was drunk in love, so I saw this product and bought it without fully knowing what it was. All I know is that it smelt like banana ice-cream. When I got home, I realised that it was hand cream so I started using it. I love how my hands feel when I used it. My hands felt hydrated and moisturised but not greasy. I can’t stand greasy hand creams.
This is perfect for me especially this time of year, where ashy hands have embarrassed my life too many times!
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash (Sensitive Skin)
Ohhh I love this gel wash. I will be honest here, I am not feeling the Micellar Cleansing water. I loved it at first, but then I realised that it didn’t take off my makeup completely especially my foundation. I mean using 10 cotton pads to remove is hella long for me, I prefer to just wash my face. I think this Cleansing Gel Wash removes more makeup than the Cleansing Water. I love the fact your skin feels soft and cleansed after use, and it completely removes my makeup as well. Two pumps of this gel wash is enough, which means that it lasts a long time. I have not had any flare-up or breakouts since I have started using this wash. I love using this wash before I go to bed before I apply my face cream.
ESTEE LAUDER Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Creme
I bought this cream a while ago when I was hunting down a face moisturiser for my oily skin. I used to be that person that didn’t cream my face because I thought that my face produced enough oil to last me for a whole week! It wasn’t until a friend of mine told me that using a oil-free moisturiser helps to balance the oiliness of my skin, that I decided to give it a try. A lack of moisture in your skin speeds up the signs of aging! Girl, I quickly went out on a hunt for a good moisturiser. I decided to try this out and I love it. It moisturises my skin without clogging my pores and leaving that greasy feel. It sinks into my skin and leave my skin feeling soft and silky. The good thing about this cream is that there are two different types of this cream, one for dry skin types and the other for normal/combination skin. I went for the normal/combination cream. The dry skin cream is thicker and richer, because you need more moisture. The normal/combination one is lightweight whilst still giving the right amount of moisture.
In the morning or when I wear makeup, I put this cream underneath my primer so that my face is hydrated throughout the day. Let me tell you it doesnt affect my makeup at it. The great thing about Estee Lauder is that you can try before you buy, so you should be able get a sample of the cream. At night, I mix it with one or two drops of the Ordinary Rosehip oil, after I have cleansed my face, to give me maximum moisture at night. This routine seems to be working for me. I will keep you updated.
THE ORDINARY 100% Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil (Review here)
This oil is life for me! I was cautious to put oil on my face, but it works! Rosehip oil is great for hydrating skin, brightening and getting rid of scarring and dark spots (naturally of course!). This oil has been a life saver for me, especially in this cold weather. Like I said before, I use it at night, rather than during the day because I found that it is abit too much to wear in the morning or under my foundation. It has made made my skin feel softer and smoother. I think if you have dry skin, this will be great under makeup. It is not greasy and doesn’t clog pores at all. This oil is amazing and the price is perfect.
