Are Foundation Sticks making a comeback? | Best Foundation sticks for Women of Colour

The game has really changed for cream foundations. I tend to use cream foundations for my contour because I find it more natural than using powder and it blends out nicely. But I recently decided to buy the Hourglass foundation stick and I was so impressed, I am now a firm believer in cream foundations. The new and improved formula for most of these foundation sticks gives your skin a flawless finish as well as hydrating the skin. They are lightweight and creamy and make applying so easy. They are less messy than liquid foundations.

Oily skin types including me used to run away from stick foundations because the traditional cream foundations were heavier and felt thick on your skin, which was never a great thing. But not anymore! These new formulas are also great for oily skin types, drying down to a semi-matte finish. You can adjust the coverage depending on how you feel, i.e using it in certain areas just to hide blemishes or add more swipes to take it full coverage.

It is great for women on the go, as you can carry it around and quickly touch up throughout the day. They are so easy to use as you apply directly to your face and blend out with a beauty blender or a dense buffing brush.

I would advise you however to use a finishing powder afterwards just to set the cream foundation in place.
