Welcome to 2017! Happy new year everybody. You know at the end of every year, I look back and reflect on how the year has gone. I have realised that how you start the year can put you in a better position at the end of the year. What I mean is, if you start the new year with specific measurable achievable goals of things that you want to achieve, you are more likely to achieve it by the end of the year. Rather than the general trend of setting New Years resolutions which you tend to break after the first month!
2017 is going to be a great year for all of us. I can feel it. Regardless of the challenges that life may throw at us during this year, I believe that we will become stronger, fearless and more accomplished in whatever we put our minds to especially when you have God backing you.
Here are my tips for a happier and more successful 2017.
God has not given us the spirit of fear. Yes, fear is a spirit. It consumes and destroys everything in its path. It destroys faith and hope. So do not let fear near you this year. The fear of the unknown is something that holds so many people back. The fear of what people might say, the fear of failure. If you have a dream, a goal, a destiny then go for it. 2017 is the year where you make your dreams a reality. Stop sitting on the fence, watching people live their lives. Live yours. Live yours to the fullest.
Be prepared to push through boundaries and obstacles
Challenges will come, obstacles can arise even from the people that you least expect. Push through! This is why you need to have a specific, measurable goal(s) in mind. See it, believe it and do it. Create a vision board, get pictures of what you want to achieve. Every morning think of it, pray about it, and push towards it. Rome was not built in a day, but it was eventually built, and now millions of people go to Rome as tourists. Believe me when I say that the day will come when people will see what you have been working on and will be inspired, but you have to do the hard work first.
Be positive and optimistic regardless of what is going on around you.
Trust me, I know how hard it is to think positive when everything around you just looks and feels like crap. When you don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. But believe me when I say even though weeping lasts in the night, joy comes in the morning. How am I so sure? Because my bible tells me so. Out of the trials comes your treasure, and you have to keep on believing it. See your vision and work towards it regardless of what is going on around you. My personal experience is when things seem to be going chaotic and just so unsettled, I am so close to my victory.
Be focussed. Focus on your goals
Focus is so important. Work hard. Give it 120%. You cannot expect to give 50% and expect 100% back, this isn’t one of those poxy fraud schemes girl! You get out what you put in. The funny thing is distracting people don’t even know they are distractions! It is you that has to determine what is an asset in your life and what is a distraction. The responsibility is on you. No-one can decide this for you. Distractions can derail you from achieving your goals, so put them aside and focus.
Be Consistent…consistently good
Some of us expect greatness but can’t put in those extra hours! Be consistently good. Be consistent in your goals and do them well, especially if you are providing a product or service for other people. Go the extra mile and provide a service/product that is excellent by your standards. If you are like me, your standards will be very high. Don’t release a mediocre product or service just because you want to rush your product/service out there. Spend time fine tuning it and make it the best it can possibly be. If you are good consistently, people are more likely to trust you and your product/service. If you are consistently blah, then people will expect that from you!
Live, laugh and love!
Please don’t forget to do this. Life is way too short to spend your time, stressing, arguing, being hateful and having regrets. See it, believe it and do it.
Oh and start now, start today! Don’t postpone it or procrastinate.
