I have never really been a blush sort of gal. I remember buying one MAC Blush in ‘Raizen’, which is like the black girl’s staple blush and using it for almost 3 years. No word of a lie. I think I ended up losing after all that time.
I saw alot of reviews regarding Milani product especially their Baked Blushes, but I was unsure where to get Milani products in the UK. Thankfully, Milani now have a UK website (www.milanimakeup.co.uk), and deliver from the UK to the UK which is so handy, as there is no possible custom charges.
I bought one blush at first to test it out now it is my go-to blush.
The Milani blushes are affordable at £7.49 and you can get them on Milani’s website or on Amazon. Although they are affordable, they are highly pigmented. I lay emphasis on the ‘highly’. There have been times when I underestimated the pigmentation and ended up looking like Temi the scary clown! Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Some of the blushes come with a shimmer, others are matte.
I picked up four colours, which I thought would suit my dark skin tone. To be honest, it was a guessing game because there are no swatches on the website.
CORALLINA BAKED POWDER BLUSH
(Shimmering Vivid Coral)
I love this colour, especially because it has a shimmer. It suits my skin tone perfectly.
BERRY AMORE BAKED POWDER BLUSH
(Berry Rose with Gold Shimmer)
I am not sure about this colour. From the description, I thought it was going to be a deeper colour. I prefer bolder colours on my cheeks to give me that flush of colour. However, if you prefer a barely there/nude blush, that gives subtle colour with the shimmer, then you would love this.
RED VINO BAKED POWDER BLUSH
(Berry Red with Gold Shimmer)
This colour is fab! It works so well on my dark skin tone, and gives me a deep red flush of colour on my cheeks. Like I said before, these blushes are highly pigmented so apply lightly.
LADY ROUGE POWDER BLUSH (MATTE)
(Hot Red – I would describe it more of a ‘Hot Pink’)
This is a matte blush and although I love shimmery blushes, I really like the colour this blush gives. The Milani website describes it as a ‘Hot Red’ but I would say that it is a Hot Pink.
