Hey y’all! So the story goes a little something like this…’in west Philadelphia, born and raised, in playground is where I spent most of my days’. I’m joking! Haha!
The real story is basically I got paid, was feeling happy, wanted to buy one Colourpop Metallic Lipstick, didn’t know which shade to buy, so I bought them all! Yup, I bought all the newly released shades because I wanted to see how they would look on my lips. This ‘metallic’ lipstick trend is quite interesting for me, because I am just not sure about it! Will it suit me? Will it work with my skin tone? Will it flatter my full lips?
But I really wanted to try metallic lipsticks for me and especially for you guys to see the colours that work and the ones that are epic failures!
I have divided this post into two because I had 11 shades to try. In Part 1, I will be reviewing Maneater, Lights out, Kween, DM, Zebra. In Part 2, I will be reviewing Salt, PYT, 3-Way, J.I.C, Mugshot and Flitter.
These Colourpop Metallic lipsticks have a different formula than other Colourpop lipsticks. They have a light mousse-like texture, so they are extremely light on your lips. On the flip side, they are not transfer proof, so you may need to reapply after eating or drinking.
Ok ok, this is not bad. Scratch that, I really like this colour. It works well with my skin tone. It is light bronze with pink undertones. I like it.
Ummmmmmmmm….so I love this light gold colour but just not on me! Its a nice colour but I can’t see myself wearing this past my front door!
Yes, I love this colour! I think it really suits my skin tone.
I wasn’t sure about this bronze colour but I kinda like it. I like the 90s vibe I get from this colour…it has got me feeling ‘supa duper fly’
I also love this colour. It is slightly darker than Kween, and it suits my skin tone.
SWATCHES ON MY ARM
Stay tuned for Part 2, where I will be trying 6 more Colourpop Metallic Lipsticks.
