Arbonne Skin Care | Initial thoughts and Reviews

‘Arbonne develops world-class products with botanicals and cutting-edge science.’

Maimie Yelland, an Arbonne consultant contacted me and asked if I could try their skincare range. I was initially sceptical for two reasons. I am a creature of habit, I don’t like trying new things. Yes, I am that person who orders the same meal all the time, if I like it. Choosing something different is a tough decision for me. I didn’t want to put some unknown cream on my face and wake up to a irritated face full of rashes.

Also, I know that once bloggers say they received free samples, people are a little sceptical when reading reviews. I did not want you to think I was sugar coating the truth because I got these samples for free. However, you guys should know me by now. That is not my style. If I like it, I like it. If I don’t, you guys will know.

I decided to research this company and try their skin care products suitable for my skin type.

Maimie, the Arbonne consultant was lovely, she asked me for more details about my skin, and sent me products for my oily skin. I received the FC5 Purifying Cleanser + TonerOil-Absorbing Day Lotion with SPF 20 and a Makeup Primer

My thoughts:

Like I said I was initially quite sceptical, however after trying these products I was pleasantly surprised. I mainly used the Oil-Absorbing Day Lotion with SPF 20 for a period of two weeks, every day.

I love this lotion. I have oily skin, so I am always a tad bit reluctant to apply heaps of products on my skin because I usually look like an oil slick by the time I get to work.

This lotion is amazingly light and is absorbed into the skin quickly, without leaving a greasy feel. My skin looked matte almost immediately. It was amazing. I will be buying more of this because it is perfect for putting on before your makeup because it moisturises your skin without looking greasy and creates a matte base.

I noticed a difference in my skin texture, however I found that it was too mattifying for the dry areas around my mouth, so I had to use a heavier cream around that area. My skin did not really feel hydrated after application so I would use this lotion for the summer months, rather than the drying winter months. However, this didn’t really put me off the product, as we are approaching summer. I found myself reaching for this lotion every morning, and was gutted when it ran out!

I tried to use the cleanser but I could not use my desired amount on a daily basis due to the size of the sample and the little I used did not give me the ‘squeaky clean’ feel that I like when I wash my face. I did not use the primer because most of the times when I tried the lotion, I was not wearing enough makeup to justify using a primer.

They have a different range of products for all skin types: dry, sensitive, oily and combination skin, and cater to all skin needs. They are very particular about their ingredients, which is great especially if you have sensitive skin. They even have an Ingredients Guide on their website where you check what every ingredient in your skin care product does.
