Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes | Review and Swatches on dark skin

Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes | Review and Swatches on dark skin

I wanted to try some new liquid lipsticks that didn’t have the word Colour in them…you know Coloured Raine, Colour Pop. I love Milani Cosmetics Baked Blush so I really wanted to try their matte liquid lipsticks. Milani is really popular in the U.S but it is not really heard of in the UK. I just stumbled on their products after hearing one of my favourite YouTubers talk about it. The great thing is that you can buy them online and they ship to the UK. I even think they have a UK based online store.

There is liquid lipsticks coming from everywhere at the moment, even I am struggling to keep up. Actually, I should say that my bank account is struggling to keep up! So I decided to buy 2 or 3 colours from different brands to test them, just so that I am not buying dupes, because it really annoys me when I find out that I have the exact same colour in my collection.

Milani Matte Lip Creme

I bought Sweetheart, Fling and Craze. They looked like perfect colours for Spring-Summer, and brought some well needed colour to my lipstick collection. These lipsticks were £7.99 each on

16 Sweetheart – Bright Fuchsia

26 Fling – Lavender Mauve

13 Craze – Bright Coral

My thoughts: I loved the smell of the liquid lipsticks, they smelt like vanilla cupcakes…yum! However, I really did not like the consistency of the lipsticks. It did not apply evenly, especially with the lighter colours. It looked quite patchy on application. When they dried, they looked fine but I was not really happy with the way they applied. Maybe it is because these colours are quite light, I will probably try the darker colours to make sure that this was not just a fluke. I couldn’t just use one coat, it was not opaque enough. I had to apply at least two coats to get the full intensity of the lipstick. The good thing is that that they are not so drying as other matte liquid lipsticks, and are creamier.

Would I buy them again? Yes, they have a great colour range which suit women of colour and darker skin tones. Yes, I do not like the patchiness, but the lipsticks are long-lasting without your lips feeling like they are going to crack any minute!

Have you tried Milani’s lipsticks? What did you think?

There’s noticeably a bundle to understand concerning this.
I assume you made certain nice points in features also.

thanks for reading and commenting. Yes, as mentioned in the post, it wasn’t all negative. I actually said I would buy more colours because they suited my skin-tone, and were not too drying on my lips 🙂
