My favourite nail varnishes | Maxfactor and Rimmel London

I love, love, love nail varnish. No matter the season I have to have colour on my nails. I recently took off my acrylics and realised how weak it made my nails, and I usually have strong and healthy nails. So I have promised myself that there will be no more acrylics in the near future, and I will use my nail polish collection to feed my colour addiction.

Here are my current favourite nail varnishes.

MAXFACTOR – Glossfinity & Gel Shine Lacquer

Colours from left to right: Candy Rose, Dusky Rose, Red Passion, Sheen Merlot

I love these nail varnishes because it really only takes one coat to get the full colour of the varnish. I really dislike nail varnishes that require you to apply three coats just to get the full colour. No-one has time to be applying one coat, letting it dry and not smudging it, whilst running after your toddler who suddenly thinks she can fly and is trying to test out her imaginary wings by jumping off the chair…and repeating the same thing two more times!

These nail varnishes have an intense colour and produce silky smooth gel-like finish when you apply it on your nails. It lasts on your nails even without a base or top coat. However, I do use a top coat for my nails because it helps the nail varnish to last alot longer without chipping. These nail varnishes takes seconds to dry, which is great for me. I love the different colours available, and they suit all skin tones.

RIMMEL LONDON – Salon Pro

Colours from left to right: 124 Venus, 402 Urban Purple, 317 Hip Hop

I also love these Rimmel London nail varnishes because I love the colours and their lasting power on your nails. They come with a large brush which makes application easier and less streaky. They dry pretty quickly. They do start to chip after around 3 days, so I would advise you to wear a top coat to make them last longer on your nails. They do not stain your nails which is also great.

317 Hip Hop is not as opaque as I would like, it is quite sheer, so I always have to apply 2 or more coats to get the opaque effect.
