What is the quickest way to remove makeup? | Micellar Water?

I have always wanted to know which product removes make up the fastest. Before I started to look after my skin, I used to sleep with my makeup on but ever since I have started to remove my makeup before sleep, I have noticed a difference in the look and feel of my skin. But sometimes, the struggle to stay awake and painstakingly take off my makeup is real! That feeling when you look at the makeup removal wipe or cotton pad and there is STILL makeup on it after wiping your face hundreds of times before!!

Can it come off already?!!!

I currently use Garnier Micellar water. At first, when I saw it, I thought, ‘what is this’?! It was sold as this magical water which lifts up dirt away from your skin like a magnet, which moistures and cleanses your skin. Also, no rinsing is required. Sounds great doesn’t it? But I have had my fair share of skincare products promising to make me look a certain way but in reality I don’t look like that at all. Boots were doing an offer, so I decided to buy the small bottle and try it out.

Micellar Water is basically a water formulated with Micelles. Micelles are tiny cleansing molecules which attract and trap dirt and grime from your face like a magnet and removes it. It is free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate which means that it is gentle and soothing on the skin. You don’t have to rinse your face.

After using it, I am converted. Now, it isn’t the fastest way to remove makeup, I cannot lie to you. On a ‘glammed’ up makeup day, I can go through 5 or 6 cotton pads to remove my makeup. Yes, and that takes time. It does not remove heavy foundation and stubborn eye makeup. I usually use my daughter’s baby wipes as well to remove the stubborn makeup.

What I do love about this product is how my skin feels after use. My skin feels hydrated and moisturised, not dry and tight. My skin has improved after I have started incorporating it into my night time skincare routine. The great thing is that it does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate which means it is great for sensitive skin and for me as it does not aggravate my eczema.

If you have dry and/or sensitive then you might want to try this, because it is free from chemicals and leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated. It cleanses, soothes and moisturises in one step. My ladies with oily skin or if you are wearing heavy makeup, you will still need to use other products to remove the stubborn makeup and to cleanse your face properly, because this product is very gentle. It might not be as effective for you.
